Cosmetic dentistry
Cosmetic dentistry deals with what is visible when you smile: the colour, shape and position of the front teeth. Sometimes the answer is one well-placed filling, sometimes veneers, and sometimes a combination with whitening or orthodontics.
- Composite fillings matched to your shade
- Closing gaps without preparation
- Reshaping and lengthening teeth
- Ceramic veneers

What is done most often
Replacing old, darkened or amalgam fillings on visible teeth. Rebuilding a chipped corner of a front tooth. Closing gaps. Correcting a tooth that is shorter or narrower than its pair. Veneers where colour and shape both need to change at once.
How we choose
We always start from the smallest intervention that achieves the result. If polishing and one bonded repair get you there, there is no reason for veneers.
We photograph the teeth before starting and go through what is realistically achievable — because most of the satisfaction with cosmetic work comes down to expectations being aligned in advance.
Frequently asked questions
Can gaps be closed without braces?
With small gaps, often yes — composite is added to the side of the tooth in a single appointment, with no drilling. With larger gaps that would produce unnaturally wide teeth, so orthodontics is the better answer.
How long does composite bonding last?
Five to eight years with good care. Over time composite picks up staining from coffee and tobacco and can be polished or renewed. A ceramic veneer lasts longer but requires minimal preparation of the tooth.
