Dermapen microneedling
Dermapen creates a grid of microscopic channels in the skin. Those controlled micro-injuries start the healing process and, with it, the production of your own collagen. Nothing foreign is introduced — the skin rebuilds its own structure over the weeks that follow.
- Acne scarring and enlarged pores
- Fine lines and uneven texture
- Course of 3 to 6 sessions
- Four weeks between sessions

Where it works best
On acne scarring — particularly the depressed kind, where creams achieve nothing. On enlarged pores across the cheeks and nose. On uneven texture and fine lines. And on the general quality of skin that has lost density.
The appointment
The skin is cleansed, anaesthetic cream is applied and left for about half an hour. The treatment itself takes around twenty minutes, with needle depth adjusted by facial area. A serum and a protective layer are applied afterwards.
No make-up for the first twenty-four hours. High-factor sun protection is required for the following week, and that is a condition rather than a suggestion — freshly treated skin pigments very easily.
Frequently asked questions
How many sessions do I need?
Three for texture and pores, four to six for acne scarring. Sessions are four weeks apart, because that is how long a collagen cycle takes. The result builds gradually and is best judged two to three months after the last session.
What does the skin look like afterwards?
Like moderate sunburn — redness and tightness on the first day, light flaking on the second and third. Most people return to normal activity the next day, with sun protection.
Does it hurt?
An anaesthetic cream is applied about thirty minutes beforehand, so it is well tolerated. The areas around the nose and on the forehead, where the skin is thinner, are the most sensitive.
When is it not done?
On active inflammatory acne, on active cold sores, and in people prone to keloid scarring. It is also postponed after recent strong sun exposure.
